Yeon J Yue: Bio

Yeon J. Yue is a photographer born in 1979 in Seoul, Korea. He graduated with an MFA in Visual Art at Columbia University in 2011. He earned a BFA in commercial photography at the Chung-Ang University in 2005 and graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. His works has been exhibited in various group shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul and he has had solo shows in Birmingham, AL and NYC. At the age of 22, he joined the Korean Air Force to fulfill his national duty, and served alongside the U.S. Air Force as Military Police for two and half years. This experience led him to do a study on the American Landscape where he spent time documenting Military Families and Suburban Landscapes across the US. He is currently involved in an ongoing study based on the relationship between language, memory, and photography.
